According to a leaked document, funding for youth and education services across London could be cut by 90%.
The Greater London Authority (GLA) report reveals funding could drop from the current £22.6m to £10.4m next year before being reduced further to £2.3m by 2016-17.
It stated: “Decreasing our funding has a disproportionate impact on the most vulnerable groups of young people.” But it also said nothing had been confirmed regarding the future budget.
The report, dated 4 November and written by the Education and Youth Forward Planning Team, stated: “We are forecasting a 90% reduction in GLA managed investment in education and youth.” Read more
