How Can Organisations Like TesYouth Survive?

Home/News/How Can Organisations Like TesYouth Survive?

TESYouth is one of many small charities set up around the UK that is working to ensure that younger people are in a better position in life. They encourage those in a situation where obtaining employment is a struggle to keep going and not to give up on their career goals (no matter how large) by creating engaging courses that will kick-start them into employment and get them interested in the world of work.

But TESYouth is just that – small. It is a charity that cannot survive on its own and requires the help of its volunteers and its stakeholders to help get it off the ground.

Smaller organisations that are here to help are often the most in need of support as they require the funding and outreach to compete with larger companies that may act on larger causes. Youth unemployment although important is often overlooked and dismissed as a minor factor, when in reality not being able to secure a job is a huge pressure recent graduates and school leavers face. Often left to fend for themselves once leaving education, failing job prospects and lack of money can leave this group feeling isolated and alone. With very few people to turn to offering them experience and a way out, TesYouth and others of its kind are the few that can help to make a huge impact on struggling young people’s lives.

So, what can be done to put these companies in the spotlight?

It is important that these organisations gain traction in the world of charity organisations – more attention ultimately leads to more sponsorship. One the biggest outreaches in the last ten years is social media and by dedicating a huge amount of time to making sure charities are well featured and have a successful outreach, we can help to get more struggling young people in touch with our resources.

Using a more face to face approach will also allow smaller charities to be seen, and showcasing events and advertising in schools is the perfect way to reach the right audience at the right time. Once A Level results start to loom, why not offer an alternative to the heavy and laborious process of a university degree when other, more fitting options may be available. There is no harm in handing out leaflets and letting young people know they can find work and be successful through other routes.

Promoting small charities isn’t always easy, but it can be a lot easier by working smart and making use of modern technology and marketing techniques. If your small charity follows the footsteps of TESYouth it too can succeed and get its name out to those who need it most.
