A new scheme launched to try to tackle long term unemployment in eight of Wales’ worst affected areas. One in five Welsh households are without a single person in work and the problem is most prevalent in Blaenau Gwent, where 28% households are without work.
The “Lift” programme aims to give one to one training in the workplace to 5,000 young people who have been without work or training for more than six months and who live in a household where no-one is employed. Read More
