New research has shown that less than half of young people are aware the European elections are even taking place. Just 42% of people aged between 12 and 24 know that the European Parliament is due to hold elections in May, with eight in 10 feeling “disconnected” from the European Union. According the study from Anglia Ruskin University and the Euclid Network, the majority of young people, 72%, see themselves as European citizens. Read more

According to a new report, youth unemployment will not reach pre-recession levels until at least 2018, a decade after the financial crisis kicked in. The Prince’s Trust warned that 10 years of young talent will “fall between the cracks” unless urgent action is taken.
