International Youth Foundation Published an article in 2017 that stated the ‘4 things the world’s youth want most of all’. The four things are as follows:
⁃ The chance to start their own business.
⁃ An education that prepares them for the real world
⁃ The end of corruption and bad governance
⁃ A safe and secure life
These four desires can be achieved or worked towards with three tools, Inspiration, Equipping and Fulfilling. By utilising these tools, the youth of today and future generations will be able to build a future that not only reaches their goals but supports others to do the same. The youth of today are going to be pioneering the future businesses in the age of Digital media and therefore need to be equipped with the tools to do so.
So, what does that mean in terms of helping to create a future in which the desire of youth can be achieved? As a generation, we often lack one of those three things due to personal experience, financial background, and other factors.
This is why organisations like TESYouth trying to support youth with education, skills and opportunities. By supporting the youth of today, they will be able to push the boundaries of success within their own lives, and the working world, which in turn will create an increasingly dynamic, sustainable and empowering world for us all to live in that is inclusive and not classist, racist or sexist.
