June 13 was TESYouth’s first birthday and we look back at the evolution of the organisation from the day it was founded.
TESYouth’s initial steps were in infrastructure and logistics. The organisation’s website, TESYouth.org went live in its first month, and the distinctive logo was designed. The current board of members was assembled, the TESYouth Online Auction launched and TESYouth Facebook and Twitter pages established, which now boast a following of over 700 people.
In January 2014, TESYouth settled in its offices at Finchley Central. They made a remarkable debut, providing work experience to young people, internships both to UK and European students, and work placement to Youth Advisor. Networking more widely, TESYouth also fostered affiliations with Jobcentre Plus, London Apprenticeship and The Association for European Training (GEB).
In April, TESYouth’s video production workshop was delivered at Brookdale Care at Fairford Court, whilst Michael Smith, the intern was part of a team to deliver it. Out tackling the causes of unemployment head-on, TESYouth also participated in the Poverty in Barnet Conference on 1st May. More recently, the TESYouth have successfully released 3 newsletters and 10 episodes of ‘TESYouth Tuesdays’, a video blog designed by Michael Smith. Michael after participating in TESYouth E-commerce workshop has launched White Wedding Films, his own wedding film production company.
Today, TESYouth looks forward to the delivery of the upcoming free one day E-Commerce workshop, running on the 17th, 19th, 24th and 26th June and the full E-commerce workshop on 14-18 July designed for young unemployed who want to start their own online E-Commerce business.
TESYouth now anticipates further expanding its range of services, to make a greater impact on the unemployed youth of today. Hopefully the next year will be just as prosperous for TESYouth as the last!
